Welcome to the Telecompaper Mobile MVNO/SP List. This is a fairly comprehensive listing of MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) and mobile SPs in the world today, as well as relevant news. Where possible, the defunct or purchased entities are listed as well. MVNEs are listed by country after MVNO/SPs. See below for general MVNEs, a news archive, some MVNO resources, etc.

Founded in November 2010, amaysim is Australia's low cost mobile service provider
Those on low-income benefits in Australia range from the homeless and long-term unemployed to single parents, disabled people and carers. This equates to more than two million people and it is these people who are most in need of a mobile phone connection. Our service seeks to address this, alleviating some of the social pressure and isolation that these Australians may experience.
Lifestyle ESP targeting the youth market. Switched from Optus to Telstra in 2013 in Australia. Boost Mobile in New Zealand was a subsidiary of Telecom New Zealand. The Boost Mobile brand was discontinued in New Zealand as of November 2007. In the USA T-Mobile US is selling Boost to Dish Network as part of the agreed conditions for regulatory clearance of its takeover of Sprint. Boost Mobile will continue to use the T-Mobile network under the seven-year agreement while Dish builds its own network

Supermarket Coles sells prepaid mobile services using the Optus network. Allows recharges from its loyalty scheme FlyBuys
For its DSL services it uses its own network, or Telstra's if its own network is not available. Its fibre services are offered using the NBN network. It belongs to Vocus Group.

Australian retailer Kogan relaunched its MVNO Kogan Mobile under an agreement with Vodafone (okt 2015). It started services in New Zealand in September 2019
The Lebara Group is a telecommunications company providing services in many European countries.
Lycamobile offers prepaid SIM cards with reduced international calling rates, focusing on users who normally use calling cards to phone abroad. The company has set up MVNOs in the following countries: UK, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Portugal, Australia, Denmark, France, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Spain, Italy and recently US (March 2013) and Austria (November 2013), Tunisia (2015) and Romania (2015). Macedonia followed in 2016, and Lycamobile launched in Ukraine in July 2017. South Africa followed in 2019 and Uganda in 2020 It ceased its operations in Hong Kong in April 2018

Belongs to bank and financial services company Macquarie Group. Offers pre-owned smartphones that Macquarie Group previously leased to other companies. (Macquarie Group not related to Macquarie Telecom)
An OVO mobile customer gets rewarded for streaming on OVOPlay. Any time that they spend on watching (and listening) on OVOPlay is counted up (called OVO Time) and given back as extra data that can used in the next recharge period.
Relaunched in 2018. Was active until 2013 when the previous Pennytel was bought by MyNetFone. It is now backed by the MNF Group, one of Australia's leading tech companies.

Retail chain Woolworth launced on the Optus network in 2011 but Optus stopped its wholesale offering in 2103. In 2015 Woolworth relaunched on Telstra's network.
